The winner of this years 202020 Vision Green Design Award was The Sydney Park water re-use project!
The awad recognises excellence in green design and the impact on built environments and was presented at the Good Design Awards Ceremony held in Sydney on May 17.
In partnership with the City of Sydney, landscape architects Turf Design Studio and Environmental Partnership led a multidisciplinary team of water engineering, public art, ecology, lighting, and other specialists on this $11 million landmark project. The end product is the city's largest water harvesting system.
From a wasteland to a large-scale biodiverse region that harvests, cleans and makes use of storm water, Sydney Park has been transformed into a thriving wetland located on the southwest fringe of the CBD.
The award winners also received the Good Design Award Best in Class in the Architectural and Urban Design category.
